With this project I want to reimagine the characters from the video game "The Legend of Zelda" for a children's book.
In this adventure, Link and Zelda search for treasure in the castle's secret garden. Through a spell, the two reduce their height and begin to live among plants and insects.

Although, I really like the original character design of the Link character, I tried to move away from the "Anime/manga" aesthetic.
Preliminary sketches of Zelda. Zelda's appearance in these early cartoons changed a bit with the final version. I think of her as an intelligent and curious 11-year-old girl. In this version, Zelda is an adventure companion of her friend Link.
In this version, Princess Zelda accompanies Link on his adventures. For this project, Zelda is a year older, taller and more mature than her friend Link.
The difference in age and maturity between the two characters will give an interesting dynamic to the story.
In this adventure, the characters shrink and start to live adventures in a garden full of insects and small animals.
The point of view of this illustration pays homage to the first 2D games of "The legend of Zelda"
One of the many challenges that Link will have to face in the book.
I love the Dragons from the "Zelda" series and I wanted to include a small tribute to these creatures in this illustration.
